Some time ago, Jeff Cavaliere made a video regarding his stats, including his weight, which is what inspired this article. He discussed the fact that people have both under- and overestimated his stats explaining how what matters more than the total mass itself is the lean mass, or the body fat percentage. Today, I want to make a different yet similar argument: the only thing that matters is how you lookβ not the scale, not your height, not your body fat percentage. If you look at yourself in the mirror and you are satisfied, than that is all that matters.

Okay, this profile definitely needs to become more personal; what better way to do this than to show my terrifically poor technique on the deadlift? I believe it's about time I start to get my opinions across as well, so I intend to write both here and on my website (thenattylimit.com, found in bio).β£β£

Firstly, why do I use poor technique if aware of the fact that it's sub-par? Is it ego-lifting? In this particular lift, yes. Am I proud of it? Fuck no. But I'm getting better at avoiding it. The real answer is the reason why many, but πππ most people do it as well: due to anthropometry. See, my upper legs are longer than that of the average person. This means that I have to almost literally 'squat' the weight up if no lower-back flexion is permitted. β£β£

As this prevents me from lifting any respectable weight, I must adapt my technique to my body, as the weight goes up. Do I suggest that everyone with long upper legs does this? No! I don't suggest you do anything I do, nor say. The best thing for everyone is to adapt all the concepts to their own bodies, as we are all built completely differently and it is insanely difficult to find someone with the entirely same proportions as oneself. If scared of injury, but you have long upper legs, there is always the Sumo deadlift.β£

Oh, and this post was definitely inspired by @warbossaoc. Not the content, but the principle. β£

For the past few days, I've been kind of inactive on this account. The reason for this is getting a new job that also takes time to get to. In total, it's 10 hours a day. Luckily, this is only until Christmas. However, I still do train hard and my forearms are aching as I type this. I like to exercise because of a hundred different things.. the results, the feeling one gets after a session, the pump, the pain, and most of all: showing yourself that you can do what you previously thought was impossible. β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β

I am always amazed when I see feats like this. People like the one featured here are able to generate large amounts of power and concentrate them on the smallest possible surface. The pain endurance is also an aspect that needs to be considered. Any task becomes easier to do once you embrace the pain of it.

Paul Holloway was able to do single finger chin-ups with relative ease, if "ease" is a term that can be used with this exercise. The reason he did it with two in these photographs is so that he could hold the positions for sufficient time for the photos to be taken. By the look of his forearms, I have no doubts about these claims.
